Attendance Officer

Grade 6

37 hours a week, term time only

£22,873 - £24,731 (actual)

 

As the school Attendance Officer, you will be focused on ensuring children are attending school every day and have a clear understanding (or capacity to learn) of the legal responsibilities on schools regarding attendance.  As well as being responsible for attendance, you will work as part of the team of office staff and will be required to carry out admin tasks as directed by the School Business Manager.

We wish to appoint an attendance officer who:-

  • Is highly organised and efficient,
  • is able to multitask and prioritise workload,
  • Is an excellent communicator,
  • Can think creatively – we need someone who can implement new strategies to improve attendance
  • Has a good level of emotional intelligence – you will need to assert authority whilst maintaining a friendly, kind, supportive nature.
  • Is able to organise and hold meetings with parents, pupils and staff to support and sometimes hold to account
  • Has excellent computer skills – you will be required to track and monitor attendance, collate attendance data and provide routine reports,
  • Will work in partnership with the local authority, inclusion team and with our network of schools (as part of the Bridge Education Trust)
  • Understands the complexities of the lives and young people but not use these to excuse poor attendance.
